Meet Danisha Platt who graduated in Nursing, 鈥�24听
鈥淚 wanted to give up, but then I remembered who was watching.鈥�
We are proud of Danisha Platt, who graduated with her associate degree in Nursing and is pursuing her bachelor鈥檚 (B.S.N.).
Working as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in 2019, Danisha decided to return to college full-time and pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse. She attended 91直播 from 2019-2020, but circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from continuing.
In 2021, she returned to 91直播 as a full-time student. 鈥淎t times, I felt like graduation was never going to come. But I didn鈥檛 give up.鈥�
鈥淢y favorite memory at 91直播 was the first day I walked through the doors and toured the amazing nursing SIM labs. I knew this was the college I wanted to attend.鈥�听

鈥淣ew England Tech has prepared me for future real-life nursing success by providing complete hands-on experience in Sim Lab and clinical. The professors were very kind and always willing to help and go above and beyond for students.鈥�
Career Professional Tutoring in the Academic Skills Center Gives Students the Edge
Danisha appreciates the professional tutoring support she received from the Academic Skills Center, which is included for all 91直播 students with the cost of tuition. 鈥淲ithout the tutors in the STEM and Writing Center, I would not have succeeded as I did in my classes. They were an amazing help.鈥澨�
91直播 is Helping Danisha Achieve her Dream Job听
Danisha鈥檚 dream job is to become an infusion nurse. She plans to work at Southcoast Health Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA, on a medical surgical floor where she can gain the hours and skills needed to be able to pass the CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) exam.
Danisha Inspires Others with Her Determination
Danisha has inspired many others over the years.
There are two quotes that have gotten Danisha through tough challenges. They are, 鈥淭he hassle will be worth the tassel,鈥� and 鈥淚 wanted to give up, but then I remembered who was watching.鈥� She says, 鈥淭hat last quote is for my children, my friends, my family, and the younger generation that looks up to me.鈥�
Because they have seen Danisha鈥檚 determination, some friends and colleagues have even applied for the BSN program at 91直播. 鈥淚t makes me happy to be able to influence people to become the best versions of themselves.鈥澨�
