  • What will I study?

You’ll follow the same curriculum as all Practical Nursing students at 91Ö±²¥. This comprehensive program prepares students for a rewarding career in practical nursing through a balance of classroom instruction, laboratory work, and hands-on clinical experience.

    Program Highlights

    • Foundations of Nursing: Core courses in anatomy, physiology, math for life sciences, and introductory writing build a strong academic base.
    • Clinical Practice: Each term integrates clinical experiences to apply classroom learning in real-world healthcare settings.
    • Specialized Care: Training includes medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric/mental health, maternal and newborn care, and pediatric/family nursing.
    • Leadership Skills: The final term emphasizes nursing leadership and management to prepare graduates for professional practice.

    Total Credits:
79 quarter credit hours across five terms.

  • Will I graduate high school with my LPN Certificate?

Not quite. You’ll need one additional term after high school graduation (Summer 2027) to finish the LPN Certificate.

  • What happens after I earn my LPN Certificate?

Practical nurse program graduates receive a certificate of completion after passing their prerequisite courses and clinical training, and the comprehensive curriculum helps them prepare for the NCLEX-PN, the mandatory licensure examination. Once passed, students can apply for licensure from the state where they seek to practice.

Our LPN certificate graduates can work in various healthcare settings, including home health, skilled facilities, long-term care, rehabilitation, healthcare clinics, and outpatient care. LPNs can choose from a wide range of nursing career paths, depending on their job outlook, specialization, and practical experience.

Students who wish to further their education can also transition to the Associate of Science in Nursing (AS) degree program. This program prepares students for the NCLEX-RN exam and for obtaining their registered nurse (RN) license, and allows for higher earning potential, greater autonomy, broader career opportunities, and more advanced responsibilities.
